Preparing Your Quilt
- Piece backing 4-6 inches larger than your top.
- Please trim off the selvage edge before seaming your back. All edges should be square. Bed sheets are usually not suitable because of their high thread count.
- Press all top seams.
- You provide the Batting (2-4 inches bigger than top).
- We provide the Thread. We only use Signature 100% cotton thread and have many solid colors and varigated colors to choose from.
- Do not pin or baste the quilt together. We need all three layers separate to load onto our machine.
- We are not responsible for tucks in quilting when there is too much fullness in quilt or borders. (tip: when applying borders, measure through the middle of quilt instead of edge)
- Include fabric for Binding if you would like us to do the binding.
- The top should be free of embellishments such as buttons or beads.
- A row of stay stitching will be applied to your quilt 1/4 inch or less away from the edge to stabilize edges. Unless otherwise requested, we will trim your quilt to about 1/4 inch from top edge when we’re finished quilting.
